German Technology, Kenyan Passion

Track record: the technology behind LushBert

LushBert is not starting from zero. The biogas technology we bring to Kenya is the same technology our partners — Bert Energy GmbH (Germany) and Kankyo Bert (India) — have already built and operated at scale, on three continents.

Bert Energy — 140+ installations since 2012

Bert Energy GmbH, founded 2010 in Leverkusen, Germany, has built and licensed biogas plants across Europe, Asia and Africa, producing over 70 million kWh annually from its European sites alone.

Kankyo Bert — 150+ installations, India & Asia

Kankyo Bert Pvt Ltd, the German-Indian joint venture between Kankyo Cleantech India and Bert Energy GmbH, has delivered turnkey biogas projects across India — including the containerised Bert Mobil plants that are the closest existing reference for Project Mavuno's technology.

Why this matters for LushBert

Every LushBert programme builds on proven engineering rather than an unproven concept. Project Mavuno will be the first installation of this technology on Kenyan soil — backed by more than a decade of operating experience elsewhere.
